The Return of Shimmy Shake

Since May 2024, a dedicated group of Fusion Bellydance dancers has joined forces with Gail to bring Shimmy Shake back to life. We chose to restart on a small scale—without funding—organized purely by a close-knit community of passionate dancers. Shimmy Shake had been deeply missed.

After three years of silence, it felt like the right moment to return. Encouraged by Linda Maria and Luisana, we took the leap. In the past, Shimmy Shake thrived on subsidies and ticket sales, but those days are behind us. So we asked ourselves: what if we started with a soirée?

A cozy evening to perform, connect, and dance together—keeping costs low and the spirit high.

Thanks to Gary Feingold, we were welcomed into Café Belcampo, which we transformed into an intimate theatre setting. And so, the Shimmy Shake Soirée was born.

Growing Success

We hosted three successful editions at Café Belcampo:

• May 2024

• November 2024

• April 2025 (our final Belcampo edition)

As the Soirée continued to grow, it became clear that the next step was a proper theatre. For the fourth edition, Gail found the perfect match in the Polanentheater:

• A beautiful and cozy café/foyer

• Seating for 60 guests

• Fully equipped technical facilities

• Warm and welcoming management

• Central location, easy to reach

And the best news? They welcome us back!
