The year has started and so has the Talent Search where we look for new Fusion Belly dancers!! You sign up, present your work and receive feedback (if you want it) from our panel of experts or come and watch, or you can simply just dance even if you don’t want coaching or feedback. After the four Talent Search Dance Days the chosen 12 dance acts will be coached and perform their improved work at the Talent Carnival in June, a gorgeous day that is not to be missed.

The end of the year is the time to look back and to look forward, to reflect and to make new resolutions. How was your 2018? For Shimmy Shake it was a good one. As well as 3 other cities we did a Talent Search in Groningen for the first time! Our international project with Hannover was a big success. The sun shone on the Talent Carnival and we started up a Kids project. The Golden Girls got amazing costumes! And we did the best festival so far, our 5 years edition. HAPPY!

We are still enjoying the warmth of the glow created by so many great experiences during the 3 days of the 5th Shimmy Shake festival. Dancing together generated so much joy and happiness! The fifth FESTIVAL was the best one so far.

With glorious weather on Sunday 10 June we were back with the Talent Carnival in Theater ‘t Kapelletje, Rotterdam. The sun gods shone on us making a magic atmosphere in the Mystic Garden. As always the delicious catering of El Yasmine – Veggie Galore – was a big hit, the market stands exciting and colorful and with the lovely dancers on the Open Stage in the garden the afternoon was complete. As so many people wanted to see the Talent Show in the theater last year we performed it twice this year.
