Sunday 14:00 | Step Up: Capoeira by Contramestre Lisette

SUNDAY 14:00 – 14:45

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian combination of music and movement, originating to the time of slaves and slave trades. The battle to be physically and mentally free is one of the fundaments of Capoeira. While in a circle, some of the participants use instruments to play live music and two people in the middle move in a fluid and flexible way.

In this workshop, contramestre Lissette from Capoeira School Semente Haarlem will teach you some of the basic steps of Capoeira. We always start with a warming up, and a small demonstration will be part of the lesson. The participants work together, play the instruments (no experience needed) and move. At the end of the workshop, there is room for questions.

Contramestre Lisette had been teaching Capoeira for over 16 years. You do not have to be agile, strong or musical to participate in this workshop. Just let yourself be taken away...
